258 NOVA ISTRA Literary, Art and Cultural Journal Zeitschrift für Literatur, Kunst und Kultur Rivista di letteratura, arte e cultura Pula, Croatia / Kroatien / Croazia, No. 3/2018 The contemporary literature section contains new poetic and shorter prose pieces of writing by a number of national writers belonging to different generations and supporting a variety of poetics, and being confirmed differently in the contempo- rary Croatian literature. 22 nd Šoljan Days 2017 in Rovinj, named after Antun Šoljan – one of the most important Croatian writers in the second half of 20 th century, had a focus on the work and life of Ivo Andrić, the Nobel Prize Winner, (on the occasion of his 125 th anniversary of his birth), the writer who equally belongs to the Croatian and Serbian literature, as well as to the literatures in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The translations into Croatian include poetic and fiction examples selected from the classical French and the contemporary Turkish literature. A more elaborate philosophical section is onWalter Benjamin. The native region contribution deals with one of the world phenomena related to the large number and preservation conditions of the mummified remnants of saints, relics, that have been kept at the Parish Church of St. Blasius in Vodnjan near Pula for more than two centuries. Critical reviews are centred round new books (novels, stories, criticism on litera- ture, poetry) by the Croatian authors and a Montenegrin writer. Translation: R. Šamo, Pula
