384 NOVA ISTRA Literary, Art and Cultural Journal Zeitschrift für Literatur, Kunst und Kultur Rivista di letteratura, arte e cultura Pula, Croatia / Kroatien / Croazia, No. 1-2/2022 Summary This double issue initially presents new poetry and fiction pieces by contempo- rary Croatian authors of different generations who are clearly recognised for a vari- ety of their poetics. This is followed by a special section marking 100 th anniversary of the birth of one of the most important 20 th century Croatian writers from Istria, Zvane Črnja, as well as 50 th anniversary of the cultural-literary, and due to some projects also resear- ch, association, Čakavski sabor , established by no one else by Črnja. Čakavski sabor represents one of the most significant projects far beyond Istria, encompassing the entire Croatian culture in the last century. The translations are from the Bolivian and Italian literatures this time. The essays are first devoted to one of the most interesting poetess in the recent time, late Nada Grubišić from Pula, and then to different antagonisms, of national and other kinds, in Pula during the Austrian rule at the turn of 19 th and 20 th century. The contributions dealing with the native issues are about the late, distinguis- hed librarian, proof-reader, archivist... a pure intellectual Mladenka Hammer, who worked all his life at the State Archive of Pazin, as well as about a very special indi- vidual, the priest, writer and intellectual Marijan Jelenić who is based in the Parish of Vodnjan near Pula. The more comprehensive section consisted of critical surveys presents selected poetry, fiction and historical books that have been published in Croatia for the last two or three years.
