Nova Istra - Literary and Cultural Journal No. 3/2005.
This is one of the four issues of ‘Nova Istra’ that are usually published a year, but without some of the sections which make our journal recognisable. Yet, one of our trademarks also refers to a slightly different conception at times.
We present a couple of occasional texts and new translations to celebrate 100th anniversary of the time when the great name of Irish and the world literature, James Joyce, lived and worked here in Pula.
The second international literary meeting 'Pula Essay Days' was held last autumn. Some eminent literary experts dealt with the usual topic 'Essay on Essay' whereas a special session was on 'Town-Essay'. This issue thus includes contributions of all the participants.
‘Nova Istra’, for the first time in Croatia and for the first time in Croatian, presents the anthology of Kurdish poetry, accompanied by some cultural-historical comments and notes.
The last section, richly illustrated, contains the texts on modern and post-modern architecture, with special reference to the architecture of rationalism.
