JELENA LUŽINA (1950), Dubrovnik, Republic of Croatia – theatrologist, professor at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje.
Graduated in Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb (1973), where she finished her postgraduate studies (1973-1975). Received Ph.D. degree (1995) at the University “Ss Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje, on theses from the field of theatrology.
She is the author of three hundred theoretical studies and essays from the field of theatrology and literary theory; author and/or editor of more then twenty books among which are: Macedonian folk drama (monograph, 1996); Macedonian new drama (monograph, 1996); Macedonian dramatica/dramaturgy between tradition and contemporary period (proceedings, 1997); Theory of drama and theatre (chrestomathy, 1998); Macedonian theatre criticism (proceedings, 1998); Acting and directing in Macedonian theatre (proceedings, 1999); Theatralica (studies and essays on themes of theatrology, 2000); Contributions to the history of Macedonian theatre (proceedings, 2000), Ten Modern Macedonian Plays (anthology of Macedonian drama in English language, 2001), Theatralica, agin (studies and essays of themes of theatrology, 2003), Balkan Theatre Sphere (proceedings, 2003), New European Drama (anthology, 2004), Selected Essays (2004).
She is the initiator, manager and editor-in-chief of several scholarly-research projects in theatrology – Chrestomathy of Macedonian dramatic heritage (1997-2000); Macedonian theatrological data-base (1999-2003); Dictionary of theatre/theatrology terms (2000-2002) and of other projects among which is the CD-ROM Theatre on Macedonian soil – encyclopaedia (2002).
